The Teaneck Public Schools acknowledges its duty to locate, identify, and evaluate all children who may have disabilities. This includes both non-public and highly mobile students, such as migrant and homeless children, aged three to twenty-one, who reside in the Township of Teaneck. For more information and to contact the Preschool Child Study Team please call the Special Services Office at (201) 833-5090.
Teaneck Public Schools District is deeply committed to ensuring that all students, including those with disabilities, are educated in the least restrictive environment (LRE). We believe that, to the greatest extent appropriate, students with disabilities should learn alongside their nondisabled peers, fostering an inclusive and supportive educational experience for all.
We recognize that every student is unique, and we work diligently to provide the necessary supplemental aids and services to support students within their general education classrooms. Special classes or separate placements are considered only when the nature or severity of a student’s disability makes it clear that meaningful progress cannot be achieved in the general education setting, even with the implementation of appropriate support.
Teaneck Public Schools remains steadfast in creating opportunities for all students to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally—together.
