Vote for Ava!

Thomas Jefferson's 5th grade student,  Ava Weinstein (Ava32393), has been selected as an Artsonia finalist for this week's "Artist of the Week" award for the 4th-6th age group. The finalist who receives the most online votes between now and Saturday May 23 will be selected as Artsonia's "Artist of the Week."
The "Artist of the Week" will be featured on the Artsonia homepage and will receive a commemorative plaque from Artsonia. In addition, Blick Art Materials has generously donated $100 gift certificates to the winning schools and $50 to the winning artists.

Each month, Thomas Jefferson Middle School highlights students who demonstrate exemplary character traits from each grade level.  April's theme is Good Decision-Making (making positive/healthy choices).

Middle School At Home Instructional Schedule

Please see the attached schedule for Thomas Jefferson Middle School - At home classes.
 
Students are expected to be online for classes at their scheduled times.
Classes meet Monday - Friday
Mornings from 9 - 11
Afternoons from 1 - 3 
 
If you have trouble with your chromebook bring it to the Chrome Depot at Teaneck High School - Cranford St. Parking lot (weekdays)  between 11 AM and 1 PM. 
 
You can also pick up your lunch there.

Ilan Blaiberg wins TJ Geography Bee and Qualifies for the State Competition.

The National Geographic Society named Ilan Blaiberg, a seventh grader at Thomas Jefferson Middle School, as one of the semifinalists eligible to compete in the 2020 National Geographic GeoBee State Competition. The contest will be held at Rowan University on Friday, March 27, 2020. Ilan won the school-level Bee, at which over 500 students participated, which was the first round in the 2020 National Geographic Bee.

Niah Aldave wins the TJ has a Bee, Spelling Bee

Congratulations to Niah Aldave who won the TJ has a Bee, Spelling Bee, and advances to the Final Local Spelling Bee, the North Jersey Spelling Bee.  Students from Bergen and Passaic Counties will compete in this event to be held on March 10th at the Technology Center at Bergen Community College.   All students participated in the TJ has a Bee competition through their Language Arts classes.
