Special Education Parent Advisor Group (SEPAG)
Special Education Parent Advisory Group (SEPAG) is a parent-led group. The New Jersey Administrative Code for Special Education mandates "Each district board of education shall ensure that a special education parent advisory group is in place in the district to provide input to the district on issues concerning students with disabilities" (N.J.A.C. 6A-1.2(h)).
A well-structured SEPAG can lay the foundation for taking advantage of the positive influence of parental input and can be a vehicle for effective communication and district-wide change.
