Welcome Back!!!

Dear Students, Families, and Members of the Benjamin Franklin Middle School Community,

Welcome back to another exciting school year at Benjamin Franklin Middle School! We hope you have had a restful summer break and are ready to embark on a new academic journey with us. We are thrilled to have returning students in grades 6, 7, and 8 join us. We also extend a warm welcome to our incoming 5th-grade students.

As we kick off this academic year, we want to introduce an overarching theme that will guide us throughout the year - "BFMS Leads." This theme embodies our commitment to empower all of you to become leaders in your own right. By nurturing the leadership skills in each of you, we are preparing you for challenges and opportunities. With this in mind, we will strive to provide you with a holistic education focusing on academic excellence and fostering empathy, resilience, and critical thinking.

We have attached a list of school supplies to ensure a smooth start to the school year. Refer to this list when organizing your belongings. We are confident you will engage in your learning journey from day one. Please reach out to your teachers if you have questions about these lists.

During the course of this year, you can expect a wide range of exciting opportunities and activities that will enrich your learning experience. From field trips to guest speakers sports events to community service initiatives, there will be something for everyone to get involved in. We'd like to encourage you to take advantage of these opportunities and maximize your time at Benjamin Franklin Middle School.

We also want to remind you that our administrative team is here to support you every step of the way. Mrs. Marina Williams will work with our 5th and 7th-grade cohorts; Mrs. Jahari Jacobs will lead our 6th and 8th-grade cohorts.  If you seek guidance, academic assistance, or someone to talk to, please do not hesitate to contact us; your designated School Counselor -Ms. Kotkin (Grades 5 and 7), Ms. Garcia (Grades 6 and 8), or Ms. Powell.  We are committed to creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where every one of you feels valued and respected.

Once again, welcome back to Benjamin Franklin Middle School. We are honored to have you as part of our community and look forward to a successful and rewarding year ahead. Let us embrace the "BFMS Leads" theme and work together to prepare ourselves for a bright tomorrow, starting today!
