The mission of the Teaneck High School Library/Media Center is to assist and support all students and teachers in every capacity of library services. Every student and teacher will be free to explore and access all library material as well as its resources.
The media specialist will aid teachers by differentiating, modeling, and supporting the New Jersey Student Learning Standards. Moreover, its mission is to enhance students’ knowledge and develop their creative capabilities to acquire an appreciation and love of literature.
It is also to ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information. (Information Power 6-7)
This mission is accomplished by:
Providing intellectual and physical access to materials in all formats.
Providing literacy and stimulating interest in reading, viewing, and using information and ideas.
Providing leadership and expertise in the use of information and technology.
