Dear Hawthorne Families,
On behalf of the Hawthorne Elementary School staff, I would like to send a warm official Welcome to the 2021-22 school year. This year’s theme is called, “Reimagining & Reconstructing” or “R&R”. As we continue to navigate the realities and changing landscape of the pandemic, the Hawthorne staff remains committed to providing educational experiences for every child to support their health and safety, academic growth, and socio-emotional well being. We understand that many of our students have not attended school in-person for quite some time. We are here to partner with our families and extend our collective support for each and every one of our students. Attached, please find a welcome letter from your child’s teacher(s) and key information for the upcoming school year.
What does our theme for the upcoming school year actually mean? Reimagining and reconstructing means that your child’s teachers and the support staff will be utilizing the knowledge we have gained while educating children during the pandemic to accentuate the quality of education for our students. For example, we will integrate technology when appropriate and continue to provide all of our students with opportunities to construct their own learning through engaging activities. We are committed to identifying unfinished learning and leveraging ingenuity, innovation, and resources to create equitable and equal opportunities for our students. Additionally, we will continue to endeavor to help every child actualize their potential.
We look forward to working with our children and our families in the coming weeks. Please stay safe and see you soon!
Sincerely,
Ms. Pitt
