Dear Whittier Families,

Welcome to Whittier Elementary School and the 2024-2025 school year. Whether you are about
to be a seasoned fourth grader, a rising first, second, or third grader, a brand-new Kindergarten
student or new to our community, I extend my warmest welcome to you.

It is with gratitude and pride that I work alongside the Whittier staff in fostering an educational
community that promotes learning as a rewarding and lifelong experience. I look forward to
partnering together this year to continue to build community, create a culture of kindness, and
promote a learning environment that develops each student’s academic skills simultaneously
with their individual strengths and passions.

At Whitter, we are committed to equipping our learners with strategies and skills that foster
social and emotional wellness by reminding our Whittier Wolves to use their P.A.W.S.

-Practice Respect
-Act Responsibly
-Work Hard
-Stay Safe

Parents and guardians are an integral part of our school community. Throughout the year,
there are many engaging events made available to our students, thanks to our valued
partnership with the PTO, our parent-and-teacher organization. Please consider coming out to
these events, as strong home-school partnerships create success for our students! Whittier PTO
meetings are on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m.

I look forward to meeting and getting to know the students and families that make up this
vibrant school community. Together, we will create an environment that promotes the desire to
learn and succeed.

Best regards,
Debra Nussbaum
Principal
