On February 3, 2023,  Bryant and TELC hosted a visit with our Teaneck living legend and Civil Rights icon, Mrs. Theodora Smiley Lacey! Mrs. Lacey was able to read her book, The Grocery Game, to several of our classes at both locations. Mrs. Lacey is a reverend and beloved member of our Teaneck community and was a teacher at Bryant School. What a memorable occasion for our students to experience Black History live and in person. Those who didn't hear the story in person watched a video recording in their classroom. 

An exceptional thank you goes out to the Bryant School PTO, Ms. Katherine Frink- Hamlett, Ms. Deidra Johnson-Dacosta, and Mr. Anre Dacosta for organizing this special visit. We are looking to purchase a copy of Mrs. Lacey's book so each teacher can add it to their classroom library.
