TEANECK PUBLIC SCHOOLS AND TEANECK ASSOCIATION OF ADMINISTRATORS & SUPERVISORS REACH THREE YEAR CONTRACT AGREEMENT

Positive Step Towards Superintendent’s Plan to Transform School District

TEANECK, NJ, [November 15, 2018] – The Teaneck Association of Administrators & Supervisors (TAAS) and Teaneck Public Schools are pleased to announce that they have reached an agreement on a three year contract (effective December 1, 2018 to June 30, 2021) which has been ratified by the TAAS membership and approved by the Teaneck Board of Education at last night’s Board meeting.

Dr. Christopher Irving, Superintendent of Schools, commented, “We now have an agreement that I believe is beneficial to the TAAS membership who we value as the leaders of our district.  I want to thank Ms. Angela Davis, TAAS President and the two negotiating teams for working collaboratively and coming to terms on a fair agreement. We are looking forward to achieving the same for all collective bargaining contracts.”

The terms of the new agreement include salary increases of 2.9% each year of the three-year contract. Administrators will also receive a work from home day during the NJEA Convention, December and spring breaks.

Teaneck Association of Administrators & Supervisors President Angela Davis noted, “I am pleased that we have reached this contract Memorandum of Agreement; and I would like to thank The Teaneck Association of Administrators and Supervisors and the Board of Education team members who negotiated in good faith, openness and a spirit of mutual respect.”

This significant accomplishment is one of several critical initiatives currently underway for Teaneck Public Schools. The district recently received a Preschool Education Expansion Aid grant from the NJ Department of Education and will begin its full day preschool program in January 2019.  Additionally, the Superintendent has assembled several advisory committees to hear from all stakeholders (parents, students, staff and community members), and will soon begin work on a five year District Strategic Plan. “We have embarked on a transformational journey to make Teaneck Public Schools a model in education,” said Dr. Irving. “I welcome everyone to join us in this effort.”
