May 2023: Mental Health Awareness Month
MAY IS MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH

Mental Health Awareness Month was established in 1949 to increase awareness of the importance of mental health and wellness in Americans' lives.  Mental health is essential for a person's overall health.

While 1 in 5 people will experience mental illness over the course of their lifetimes, everyone will face challenges that can and will affect their mental health.  We encourage you to explore the resources in the "Mental Health Awareness Month Information" attachment.

GET YOUR GREEN ON MAY 18 Green symbolizes the continual awareness of mental health to help fight the stigma that is often associated with it.  On May 18, let's wear green to show colleagues, students, loved ones, or simply those you walk past that you care about their mental health.
