Teaneck Apple Award Winners - Congrats!
Teaneck Apple Awards – June 10 Board Recognition

As our district transitioned to remote learning, we decided to accept nominations for those who went “above and beyond” to serve our community and our students during the pandemic.

We want to thank everyone for the nominations and I am pleased to announce the following recipients of The Teaneck Apple Award:

Staff
1.) Shema Stroud, Jenine Kea and Sheila Moore – For the daily Lunch and family care package distribution.  Through rain or shine they showed up and made sure families had food.  They created care packages when families let them know that they didn't have food.  They made families and students smile when smiling was in short supply!  And made children happy with little surprises such as easter eggs with surprises in them.  And then, went home and did their "9 to 5" job into the evening and night!

Partners
Kristen Appel, Maschios -  for managing the daily distribution of meals in all kinds of weather

Students
1.) Liam Engler, Bryant/kindergarten - for creating the KinderAcademy on YouTube to teach lessons to his fellow classmates

2.) Carson Myers, Bryant PSD 3 classroom, for his extra hardwork and effort during the pandemic...his is 3 years old and his teacher wrote in to tell us about him

3.) William Cross Charles, Lowell/3rd Grade - for his YouTube show "The Will to Read", which helped develop his public speaking skills while helping out his fellow students with his videos

4.) Niah Aldave and Reem Abouganba 7th graders at Thomas Jefferson Middle School - they worked together to form Nemo School of Online Classes to help each other and fellow classmates navigate the daily classwork in the absence of teachers.
