May is Mental Awareness Month
Mental Health Awareness Month was established in 1949 to increase awareness of the importance of mental health and wellness in Americans' lives.  Mental health is essential for a person's overall health.

While 1 in 5 people will experience mental illness over the course of their lifetimes, everyone will face challenges that can and will affect their mental health.  We encourage you to explore the resources in the "Mental Health Awareness Month Information" attachment.

LET'S WEAR GREEN ON MAY 17.   Green symbolizes the continual awareness of mental health to help fight the stigma that is often associated with it.  On May 17, let's wear green to show colleagues, students, loved ones, or simply those you walk past that you care about their mental health.
