Virtual Graduation Ceremony 2020

May 26, 2020

Dear Teaneck High School Parents, Students and Staff,

On May 13, in accordance with the State's and CDC's guidelines at that time, we made the difficult decision to move to a virtual graduation ceremony for the Class of 2020. Although the State is now issuing new guidance on this matter, after consultation with local and state health officials, COVID-19 is still an ongoing threat. Therefore we believe that a virtual ceremony is in the best interest for the health and safety of our students, staff, and their families. We plan to continue with our June 22 virtual graduation ceremony and will make this a very special event to celebrate the accomplishments of our senior class.

Our Graduation Ceremony is one of several activities that are being planned to celebrate the Class of 2020. Additionally, there are plans in the works for a summer celebration of some sort, pending further guidance from the State on social gatherings.

This decision has been difficult to come to, and my heart goes out to all the students in our senior class. Please stay healthy and safe. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Dr. Christopher Irving Superintendent of Schools
