Whittier School's Little Free Library
After spending time researching the history of libraries, their influence in the community and the importance of reading, Whittier summer program students built a Little Free Library for the neighborhood. The idea of this project is to inspire a love of reading by building a neighborhood book exchange where anyone can take a book to read.  There are no due dates, no fines.  All you need to do is take a book to read and leave a book to share with someone else.  Our Little Free Library is located in front of the Whittier School near the visitors entrance sign.

The Little Free Library movement was started by Todd Boyd as a homage to his mother, a school teacher and lover of books.
