October & November Highlights

Amelia Earhart, Dorothy Height, Benjamin Franklin, Katherine Johnson, and Mona Lisa were among the historical figures walking around BFMS on October 31st.  BFMS staff members seized teachable moments by dressing up as historical figures and sharing the stories of those icons.  On November 1st, BFMS hosted its 2nd annual literacy night.  Families learned about the ways in which games can enhance literacy skills.  Families had an opportunity to rotate through several stations of board games with a side of milk and cookies, donated by the BFMS PTO.

November 2nd was a busy day at BFMS.  The Student of the Month ceremony was held in honor of our October recipients for demonstrating the character trait of respect.  There was a narcotics task force presentation for our seventh grade students.  In addition students, who sold a certain number of items in a PTO fundraiser, were spectators for an extreme basketball show. Our seventh grade students attended a gang presentation, provided by the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office, on November 7th.
