Panasonic Robotic Competition

Teaneck High School is proud to announce that the THS Robotics Team was awarded 1st Place in the state wide Panasonic Creative Design Challenge (CDC) robotics competition. The members of the THS Robotics Team include students, William Milun, Saima Jamal and Itai Epstein with coaches Mrs. Sharon Bellin and Mr. Rolando Monserrat. The competition is sponsored by a partnership of Panasonic Corporation and New Jersey Institute of Technology and spans from the first week of November until the last week of April. This year’s competition started with over 50 New Jersey high schools including public, private, regional and county high schools. Only 23 high schools that participated in the Preliminary Challenge made it to the Final Challenge. After earning a perfect score on their performance in the Final Challenge, the THS Robotics Team received 1st Place as well as Best Design Award. Each student in our THS Robotics Team received scholarship of $4,000.00, electronics gifts from Panasonic Corporation as well as the Official Panasonic CDC trophy.

All teams participating in the Final Challenge were required to complete an Oral Presentation with Q&A, a Research Paper as well as a Logbook. These previously mentioned components made up 50% of the total points of the final score. The remaining 50% of the score is from the performance of the robot in the Final Challenge.

The trophy can currently be viewed in the Main Office at Teaneck High School.
