Principal's Greeting

Welcome to the 2010-2011 school year at Teaneck High School and to the new and challenging experiences that we will experience together. Our slogan for this year is Together We Achieve The Extraordinary.  I believe this is fitting as we continue to create and provide learning opportunities that will enhance individual growth.  So too will these opportunities develop the “whole” person as we continue to move forward in the 21st Century.  In today’s educational climate, I expect each member of the Teaneck High School Community to embrace the diversity that is Teaneck High School, embrace and accept new challenges that we will face, and embrace and celebrate all that is good and available to you each and every day within the Teaneck community.

Every student is expected to achieve at the highest levels possible.  To this end, our school’s instructional goals for every student will continue to be:  to improve student achievement and performance, to increase the richness and relevance of the curriculum, and to heighten student success.

To enjoy the successful completion of your Teaneck High School Experience, and the awarding of your diploma, each student must meet all graduation requirements which include completing 140 credits as well as mandatory community service.  I encourage you to take advantage of the many opportunities available at THS that are designed as supports to help you continue to grow and develop your talents as positive and contributing members of your community.  Teaneck High School’s outstanding staff is available to assist you in this important learning process.

To further enhance your learning potential and experience, you are encouraged to use the Student/Parent Handbook for necessary information about Teaneck High School:  the calendar, clubs and activities, discipline code, students’ rights and responsibilities, and all necessary information.  This handbook is offered to you as a tool to enhance each of your academic endeavors.  The handbook must be used for a hallway passport that will enable you to leave the classroom in an emergency.  Using this Handbook will help make you more successful as a vital member of our Teaneck High School community.

To reiterate our slogan for this school year:  Together We Achieve The Extraordinary.  Each of you is encouraged to take advantage of the educational opportunities afforded to you at Teaneck High School and challenge yourselves to achieve academic success in every class you take.  Keep your priorities in order:  be a good son or daughter at home, organize your time well, study, be positive role-models in school and within your community and inspire others to grow and make a difference – not only in Teaneck High School, but also the world beyond our walls.  Know that we have the potential for greatness when we work together, and know also that together we will “Achieve The Extraordinary.”

I wish each of you a productive school year and I look forward to working with you and your parents.

Sincerely,

Angela R. Davis
