School Programs

Before-And/Or After-School Programs  
  • The following activities are offered: Cheerleading, Flag Twirlers, H.E.A.L., Marching Band, Terpsichoreans, National Honor Society, Yearbook, Student Council, and SOLA (Student Organization of Latin Awareness).

Curriculum Components
  • District commitments to equality and global/multicultural education are reflected in support programs and courses.
  • Teaneck High School offers more than 125 courses as well as a number of alternatives: 45 honors and advanced placement courses; independent study; a broad range of electives; and more.
  • Increased use of technology across all subject areas.
  • Library media center is connected to the Bergen Electronic Library System and Bergen County Cooperative Library Services
After School Student Support / Teacher Availability
  • The high school administration has assignned each teacher a classroom after school on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thrusday from 3:00 p.m. to 3:25 p.m. for extra help, for tutoring, homework, and academic support.
 Special Programs
  • Teaneck High School offers exemplary and innovative programs: annual Career Fair; host informative sessions from numerous college admissions representatives; Alumni/Senior Dialogue; a Peer Leadership Program; an up-to-date business curriculum with a simulated office environment; and THE FORUM, a school-based youth services program that includes the Peer Mediation Center, an after-school tutoring program, homework club, and job placement.
  • The Cultural Hub includes a Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies, African-American Studies Center, Latin American Cultural Center and Pan Asian Island American Center.

Parent/Family Support
  • Parent and family members are involved in the PTSO (Parent-Teacher-Student Organization).
  • All meetings are held on every second Monday of the month at 7:00 p.m. in the second floor Media Center. All parents and students are welcome.
