Summer provides students with a change of pace and focus. It also provides a wonderful opportunity for recreational reading and visits to your local library. Reading is a complex process. However, it is also like any other skill - students get better at reading through practice. Research consistently demonstrates that children who spend more time reading are better readers. Help our students make the most of their time this summer by encouraging them to read. Students who read as a leisure activity sharpen their comprehension of text and acquisition of vocabulary. In addition, students feel a sense of great confidence and pride as they complete a book from cover-to-cover. Let's work together to make this summer a memorable one!
