Development Update – Feb. 2019
We are making significant progress in the “gathering of
information” stage of our District Strategic Plan development. The district is in the process of collecting
qualitative and quantitative data by way of hosting in-district focus groups
and community town hall meetings.
During the focus groups, participants will engage in small
group discussions where they will share their perceptions and views on our
current successes and areas in need of improvement in our schools and district.
The Strategic Plan Town Hall meetings will serve as a forum for community members to share their thoughts regarding the work of the district. Participants will also have an opportunity to discuss their aspirations and hopes for the future work of our schools. In an effort to make contributing to this process as convenient as possible, we have selected four dates and locations for our Town Hall meetings. The first two meetings will take place at Teaneck High School (February 20 and March 4) from 6 pm to 7 pm. The third and fourth events will take place at Temple Emeth (on March 26) and Darul Islah (on April 2) from 5 pm to 6 pm. The latter two events require online registration for security purposes. The Strategic Plan Town Hall meeting flyer (available in English and Spanish) includes a live link that immediately goes to the registration page (the flyer is available at the bottom of this page).
Additionally, an online survey will be made available in March. Check back for more information on how you can contribute to this important process by completing this survey. The information collected from the online survey, the focus groups, and the town hall meetings will provide the district's leadership team with the critical information needed to develop our five-year plan.
Finally, our Steering Committee met again on January 30 and
all members were asked to assist with current initiatives that are underway
including the final stages towards releasing our online survey and the upcoming
Town Hall meetings. The Steering
Committee will reconvene on March 12.
