The Benjamin Franklin Middle School chapter of The National Junior Honor Society, which is led by Ms. Gorant, is comprised of eighth grade students who exemplify the NJHS pillars of character, citizenship, service, leadership and scholarship. Students are invited to apply for membership to NJHS based on academic performance and commendable behavior throughout their years at Benjamin Franklin Middle School. Candidates must complete an application essay, and induction is determined by a faculty council.

The BFMS chapter of the NJHS emphasizes the importance of service and leadership through various charitable projects that benefit our local and global communities. Meetings are held at least twice each month, and attendance and participation are mandatory.
