Welcome to the Teaneck Public Schools!
Dear Parents, Guardians and Students:
It is a pleasure to officially welcome you to the 2011-2012 school year. I hope that you have all had safe and interesting summers. Those of us in our schools and at Eugene Field were very busy preparing for the new school year. Many curriculum initiatives took place during the summer, and of course, the extremely important task of hiring new staff members. In addition to getting the district in order for September, our administrators met for several days of professional development, including legal updates and goal setting.
Some changes in school administrative assignments were also made during the summer.
- Dr. Spollen-LaRaia was appointed Principal of Hawthorne School
- Ms. Angela Davis was named Principal of Thomas Jefferson Middle School
- Mr. Dennis Heck is Interim Principal of Teaneck High School
- Mr. Peter LoGiudice is Interim Assistant Principal at Teaneck High School
These very fine educators bring resources to their position that will aid our students in both achieving at higher levels and making the social growth necessary for success in the years to come.
Found as a link below on this web page are district goals and objectives for the next few years. These goals were developed from goals established by the Teaneck Board of Education. Each school will use the district goals to develop goals and objectives for themselves. It is my intention that goal and objective establishment for schools will include input from parents and students, so please be alert for requests from your schools for that input.
I want to thank all of the parents and community members who work so hard to support and promote the activities and achievement of the students in our schools. I am touched and encouraged by the spirit of volunteerism and the sharing of great resources that I encounter most every day.
